Supposed to be fairly good and flexible, look at altec lansing unofficial (http://alteclansingunofficial.nlenet.net/index.html) for the specs, up to 8 bridgeampable 80 watt boards, hot swappable, a lot of components in a ~30 year old amp, The edge connectors might be dubious after all these years. The designer, Paul S. Rumbaugh, posted on Todd Whites Altec Board (http://www.hostboard.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=3729&t=2808) a few months back, he also designed the 9440A, THE Monster Altec Amp.
I bought a 2202, the 2 channel version, unfortunately it is still not working, so I cannot give a full report on that.
Enjoy
