Is there a 12 inch JBL woofer that would work well in a 2.4 cu ft sealed enclosure?

It seams as though most JBL woofers work best in a vented enclosure. I have a vintage pair of speakers and I need to replace the 12 inch woofers. The manufacturer is out of business. :banghead: I want the tight, punchy sound of JBL. Also, I do not want to port them as I am doing my best to keep them original in case I ever find the exact replacment woofers.

I really would like the 2214H's but it does not appear they would work well in a sealed box that small.

Thanks in advance.

The box is small. A 123A would work in there, but be pretty high Q (peak at 90Hz). Best to include an aperiodic vent too, to lower the Q of the alignment. That should result in a modest low end, well suited to large standmount positioned near the wall.

W12GTI, but you need LOTS of power and will probably have to pad down the mids/highs (and brace the cabinet). ;)

2213H is still available new from the factory. MSRP = $322 ea.

One other option is the 122A, if you can find them. Low Qts means a very modest box size for most uses (max flat is like 1.5ft^3), so you'll have a low Qtc alignment, running down to an f3 near 55 or so. I have no idea how the high end is on these though.

I think a lot of JBL drivers would work in Sealed Boxes, but the 2214 and 128H are Vented only.
