Not much reference to this unit here. I have just secured a used one. Now working although still getting to grips with reseting the filters. It is capable of up to 4 bands per channel and has the optional eq board (surprise marked 'JBL CD horn'). I will be using in three channel mode for PA use but if any forum members want more info or have more info then this is the place to start. Photo's of the guts on request!

These were expensive new are very complex, not sure if they will cut it for Hi Fi.

If Klark Teknik are not forthcoming on filter building info then I'll be pestering here again.

I've never run across this unit. Although intended for SR use, their stuff is so high-quality, my grab is it will do really well in HiFi. Please post your impressions!

Those are very nice analog crossovers with many configurations possible. Not as easy to tweak as just turning a knob. The advantage to card based crossovers is that there is very little drift or error in the set crossover frequencies as you can get with pots and the silk screening on the front panels.

Not really related, but I got a pristine Klark Teknik DN330 pre-set 1/3 octave eq for £30 off eBay. I don't use it for hi-fi though. They were about US$900 new....the seller told me he had three more of them but was expecting a better return than £30. No one wants analogue gear anymore :(

Google flagged up previous retail of £1400. Digital is cheaper to build.

Not sure about this unit in terms of sound quality due to it's complexity, test run soon. EQ board bypassed and removed.

That's probably one of the best analogue crossovers ever made IME.
KT has a very very good rep in terms of audio quality and transparency of their kit. Lets know how you find it.

Its a fine crossover. I have a large collection of factory software for setting up filter cards. The software helps select the component values for different slopes and crossover points.

If your looking for "state of the art....." the KT is not your answer.

When compared to something like a Deqx.......forget it.

That being said, I have seen some of the KT DSP units for sale on Ebay lately. I would be very interested in hearing them. As you are aware....things are always evolving.

The Deqx is in a league all its own (as far as I know) After running 2 of them in series to drive my 4-way HR1's I was blown away by their performance. The auto setup never worked for me.....but after some multi-location RTA readings and tweaking.....wow. I wish the members who had heard the system prior to the Deqx/Boulder amps combo could have heard it again. I hope I get a chance to own something like that again.:)

Unit has been run up and all seems good so far. Need to rework crossovers before judging sound quality. EQ could be adjusted with one of those nice Meyersound units perhaps (another secret let out of the box).

Don't forget this is for mostly :dj-party:but a pretty highly envolved function. I'm trying to get as near to friends JBL 4430 reference home system or better as far as sound quality is concerned. My own home system is passive S8 and vintage Accuphase till money for more arrives.
