Hello folks,

I found a pair of JBL L80T GI loudspeakers on Ebay Germany,

What's the meaning of the addition GI ?

Kind regards,

I may be wrong, but perhaps that refers to a JBL that was purchased at a US Military base by a "GI" (General Infantry) or member of the US Army. My friend purchased his L100T's overseas that way but I don't recall seeing a "GI" stamped on them anywhere.

I think you are on the right track.....seem to recall that JBL made special models/editions for the PX system.

Hi Guys,

Have a look at this URL:

In my opinion the addition "GI" has nothing to do with the US Forces. The loudspeakers were bought from Radio Maurer in Kassel for 1.098,00 German Marks.
