It is quite remarkable how 5 years ago the 4345 was only a footnote in our Lansing Heritage textbooks and today several members own originals and quite a few have built exact copies or derivations of them.
It is certainly a fine system and I am glad to see that this rather rare system has become so popular. I haven't heard any of the clones, but I am sure that if they are careful copies of the originals as many are they will be equally outstanding. I am not sure if your 2" driver mod will be an improvement or not, but since it is a bolt in replacement there is certainly no harm in giving it a whirl. If you are planning on using the 3145 network, I would try to track down a pair of 2122s.
If you are not intending to build 4345 clones, I'd suggest you encase these cabinets with 19mm birch plywood. On larger cabinets I usually go this route and it really solidifies the bottom end.

These will not be clones, just look a like :). I´ll go fully active with 4x5 watt diy amp + another class A amp + a Crown K2.

Hey pos: My 4 way project is laying still over the summer because of no time left for it.
My boss/ friend died in a motorbike accident in april so i got involved with his two kids and a lot of work.
I´m only working on my K2/array project and Pass Labs Diy amps at the moment.

Yes, or look into the 2123 with a cc'd 4344MkII style network. I tried it and it's very worthwhile!

But pushing the 2245H to 340khz could be a problem.
I am facing the very same situation.

Actually, I used the 2123 to 290 Hz and had no pronounced issues. Conversely, I doubt that running a 2245 to 340 Hz would be a big deal, either.
Of course, some folks like to split hairs.....:)
So you did a modified version of the 4344mk2 network for a 290khz crossover point? If that is the case I would be interested in knowing more! :bouncy:
What modifications did you made?
POS, all I did was remove the passive high pass section because I biamp, anyway. Nothing fancy, at all.

A few months after i started this project i found a pair of L300 Summit speakers for sale here in Sweden, so i´ll not make these finnished.
I´m going to keep my 2245 and maybe building 2 B460 to my L300.
