Hii everyone. I have had these Valencia's for well over 15 years. One horn does not work, but everything else works great. They were lightly covers wit Black epoxy about 5 years ago.

They are located in St. Peterburg, Fl. Been in storage for 7 years. Minor cosmetic defects besides the epoxy. What are these typically worth now.

Thanks for all feedback provided!

I took a look on ebay, where the market price of many vintage items can be found readily. This pair of 846Bs recently sold for $899:

My guess is that yours will likely bring a couple hundred less due to the black finish, and less yet if you don't repair the dead compression driver. It is worth your time to troubleshoot the problem, and buy and install a new diaphragm from Great Plains Audio if necessary. Best results are reportedly obtained by calling rather than emailing Bill Hanuschak:

Are you sure you really want to sell these? They are excellent speakers, especially with a few tweaks such as taming the ringing of the cast aluminum high frequency horn flares. They are based on the Altec theatre/professional speaker components, and reproduce music with a dynamic accuracy that many modern $30k+ "high end" (hind end?) speakers cannot aproach. You might want to repair the driver and give them a good listen before dropping out of them for a few hundred bucks.

You about talked me out of it! Thanks so much for the reply. One day I do, the next I don't. I really need the $'s due to a death in the family, but if its only $100-200 i'm not going to bother.

I really appreciate the link and contact info as well. I will definitely give them a call ...it really is worth repairing them, and i'm the only one who would like the black anyhow...hate to see something happen to them really!

Again...cheers!

For me personally, a fair price would be $400-500 due to the bad diaphragm and non-standard black paint or stain job.
