I under stand how to determine box size cubic ft ect, and have decided on my box size for the le-8, but I don't understand how to figure port size and length. According to JBL's specks I need a 7/12" Tunnel 6 sq in. What equation does it take to figre this out? Any help would be great.

Hello

Just keep it simple. A 6" square hole would be a 2X3" rectangle. The port would be 7 1/2" long minus the baffle thickness. So the port length behind the baffle would be 6 3/4" with a 3/4" baffle board.

Download the WinIsd box program. It will make things much clearer and is freeware.

I understand the hole needing to be a 2"X3" X 7 1/2", how would I calclate this for a round port. Shurly it wouldn't be a 6" by 7 1/2" tube. Ahh I hate math I will have to down load the program, this will probably confuse me too.

Area of a circle is Pi or 3.141 X Radius squared. You have a computer use the calculator or just download the box program which figures all this out for you.

Here's what WinIsd looks like. Figure a 3" PVC pipe or you can enter any diameter and it will give you the lenght
