Does anyone know if JBL had a 15" cone with the number 76076 stamped on the backside? I'm looking at a local D140F that the seller says has been reconed and that is the number stamped on back. My gut tells me it's a JBL kit. The $64K question is what model is it??

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

:D

Click on "Lansing Product Marketplace".

On the upper left side, click "New Thread"...and post away.

Then....delete your post here with the edit function on the lower right.

Hope this helps.

Looks like a D-Series...130(F) or 140F with an E140 kit.

Edge, doesn't this gold top plate mean a narrow gap?
Ouch.

Not really, Guido.

If it's a D130...and old enough...i.e., with the terminals on the frame arm, there's a 50-50 chance of a narrow gap....053"

If it's a D130F or D140F the gap will be .057"

Guido's referring to the cadmium (gold-color) plating used on the really old top plates.

I ended up buying this driver this evening. It is indeed an E140 kit that appears to be unused since the recone. He had it listed on CL for about a month. He lowered the price to $70. I really don't need it, but I couldn't pass on it at $70.
