OK, I've tried the search function - but haven't been able to find out:

how can you identify an original (as compared to various aftermarkets) JBL diaphragm in a 2425 tweeter?

Do you have it?? If you do throw up some pictures. We may be able to tell by looking at it. Will post some pictures later. Many times the JBL's will have inspection stamps on the mounting rings and writing on the coil forms.

Yeah, I have 3 of them. 2 look identical, the outer rim of the dome is embossed in a diamond pattern. Both are tagged with a code along the rim: one is 21U-JBF, the other B5Y-JBF. The former also has a ink stamp on the inside of the rim, reading 60259-02.

The 3rd look different. The embossed pattern along the outer rim is more radial-like. The code, however, seems of the same type: A5E-JBF.

I dont't have access to a camera right now, but I'll try to upload some pics later. Thanks for all help.

EDIT: There are also ink writing on the coil forms.

No1 reads: 50 2 22 01 3696
No2 reads: H W NU259JT 3699
and the different no3 reads: XM 97955AN-RW

Any clues?

It has a very clear picture of a D16R2425 or D8R2425 diaphram.

Good Luck.

Scotty.
