I am looking for a source for 1-3/8" inserts for one of my wood horn projects. I will be requiring at least three. There sure don't seem to be any ready-to-go as far as I can tell from a lot of googling around.

If I am unsuccessful, I plan to tool up and do a short run in case anyone may be interested. Thanks in advance.

You can use screw to bolts adapters for that purpose.

There is one at partsexpress, but it looks like it is entirely made of plastic:

There is also a P-audio adapter, but looking at the pictures it seems too long: the mouth of the driver will not line up with the surface

You migth be able to extract the metal insert out of it tho

Part them off of PC-25s, or buy the tap and make your own....

I too have spent time searching for these, without any luck. I was considering purchasing a pair of Parts Express waveguides for $7.60 each that have brass inserts, then pulling them off. These were the cheapest I found.

If you make some up, I'd be interested.

Thanks for the replies everyone. I have decided to tool up and do a run sometime next month at the earliest. The thread is a weird one. 1-3/8"-18 NEF. The taps are not cheap... I will be milling them from bronze hollowbar. If anyone needs or wants any special configuration, PM me and let me know, there is plenty of time before I begin.

I do not have much more than a ballpark figure on cost per unit. Probably $10-$15 each.

Thanks again,

Brian
