I had someone ask me about Fisher Airdyne speakers,,,,,Fina 107. I know absolutely nothing and can find absolutely nothing. Anyone around here familiar with these? The owner picked them up 30 years ago as abandoned property.

Thanks,
Indy

Here is the whole matching set on EBay (http://cgi.ebay.com/Vintage-FISHER-MC-4027-AM-FM-Stereo-Receiver-Cassette_W0QQitemZ230210415130QQihZ013QQcategoryZ5 0596QQcmdZViewItem#ebayphotohosting).

They do not look like much, the receiver is marked made in Korea.
If I was on speaker safari (http://audioheritage.org/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=17712&highlight=speaker+safari) with Seawolf I think I would keep driving.
He seems to come up with some nice stuff.
Nice looking badge though.

Best

Not sure if thats the same AirDyne - you'd have to check with Indycraft!
But any of the Altec and Marantz folks can tell you how those brands have changed (diminished) since their earlier glory days.
Marketing folks have been known to recycle brand names that were popular in the past to add perceived value to something new ...

Just look at the various cars badged and known as Ford Thunderbird.

I would pass on them too, althought I picked up a nice nakamichi pair last week.

now VW has rebadged their Golf as the new Rabbit.

and new for 2008...."Without a doubt, the biggest new model arrival this year is the new Falcon - and the moment can't come soon enough for Ford".

Back in the day Fisher was known for their excellent electronics, the tube separates are very good, but they never made a speaker worth a darn that I heard of, and once they were shopped overseas they went waaaay downmarket.
