Hello all,

I have a couple of 2" Electrovoice DH1A's. Wondering if someone could
recommend an appropriate horn? I would like to get down to around
500hz..

http://www.electrovoice.com/products/294.html if you want to stay with an EV horn that is the ultimate.

either that or the older hr9040

i have used ev drivers on 2397's and have had great results with that too.

Thanks,

I was thinking of the hr9040 as well but the throat doesn't match the driver. I'll have to check out the jbl horn you mentioned...

Do you really think the hp9040 would work in the home? That thing is like 3 ft tall!

I have both HR6040 and HR9040 horns -- they work very well.

Loach,

What drivers are you using?

I use E/V ADH-5 adapter

I use JBL 2426H comp driver or E/V DH1506 comp driver.

Both work very well on either the HR9040 or HR6040.

The HP940 is a direct bolt up. I have used both the HP940 and JBL 2380 with my DH1A's.

Hello Balderdah and Pelly,

Yes I have a pair of HP9040 (ex movie theatre:applaud:) that I have yet to try on JBL drivers and they are BIG roughly 3' x 2' and almost as deep. There is also the JBl 2360 series of large format horns (along the same lines) and of course the older 2350 and 2355 radial horns.

Well I have to say when the DH1A's arrived I was shocked....These things are as big as hubcaps and are almost a struggle to pick up. They at least look like they could do some damage...in a good way of course.
