One more question regarding Altec 416-8A. I have to recone them. So far I have found only one place http://www.legacysoundservice.com, they have OEM replacement kits and aftermarket LSS kits . I’m wondering if there is another sources somewhere, and main question is should I pay more and get OEM’s or aftermarket kits are as good as original one. Any suggestion and recommendation in this matter are more than welcome ..;-)
Regards,
Artur

The best place to go for original 416 recone kit is Great Plains Audio. They ship all over the world (glue not included) outside US.

Here is their web site ;you can either Email or phone in your order specifting the driver type number.

I truly recommend the original cones and spider etc.. if you want the VOTT Altec Sound.

Send your request to Todd White and explain the situation. He's the Moderator on the unofficial Altec Lansing Web site. He also designed GPA's web site and knows Bill personally.

Check the Unofficial web site for EMAIL

by most accounts on the internet, it seems
best to call GPA directly for your inquiries,
if at all possible....

Ask him for the T/S parameters, as well. He may know them.

If they're different from what I cited, post them here, please....
