This is my first post, and I have just recently found this forum, so forgive my ignorance... (I have had JBL's 20 years though).

What is the difference between the L250 and 250tii?

thanks

The L250 (http://lansingheritage.org/html/jbl/specs/home-speakers/1982-l250-b460.htm) and the 250Ti (http://lansingheritage.org/html/jbl/specs/home-speakers/1984-ti.htm).

The technical stuff seems to read about the same between the two, is there a laymans explanation that illustrates the big differences? Isn't the 250ti the sought after one?

thanks!

You can read about them (and more ;) ) here: http://www.lansingheritage.org/html/jbl/specs/home-speakers/home-speakers.htm

The Ti series heralded the introduction of the Titanium dome tweeter (and vastly improved networks). Try the Search botton on a variety of search strings, and you'll find a plethora of posts.

The 250Ti was an upgraded version of the L250. It used the 044Ti titanium dome in place of the phenolic 044 and the 104H poly coned midrange in place of the LE5-11 paper coned midrange. A new network was also used (N250Ti instead of N250). An upgrade was available in kit form so a person could upgrade their L250's to 250Ti's.

I prefer the L250 cab with 250Ti components/network. Because the L250 does not have the holes in the cab for grill mounting. I think it looks cleaner. But I also prefer no grills.
It does seem that most people would like the 250Ti's over the L250's.
