Hello!

Just to know if some of you ever heard a pair of AQUARIUS 3.

I read in the product profil part of the LH site that there was only 4 pairs of these that were built, but maybe one of the older forumer can tell much about these speakers.

I'm planning to built a 2 ways system using one LE10A and one FOSTEX FD232 in a 50 to 70 liters enclosure (More or less 2cu/ft) for my daughter but I'm looking for a non-percussive sound.I guess a clear, smooth and most of all a diffuse sound is what she wants to listen music.
These enclosures will stand in a non symetric aera, one in a corner and the other in the middle of a straight wall.

I will use a 5.1 channel ONKYO amplifier, but she had no space for 5 speakers in her tiny flat.:banghead:

Years ago, I listened to a pair of AQUARUIS 4, but find them disapointing.Lack of bass and no upper trebble too.But a full space sound indeed.:bouncy:

Hi locanti

FWIW, there's a europeon maker ( Danish ? ) of speakers that uses a compression driver that down-fires into a semi-hemispherie cone that creates omni direction dispersion.

From Memory ( & suspect , as always ;) );

The dispersion object is a round cone that is flat bottomed , ( with the apex of cone pointing into the compression drivers exit ).
- The woofer fires upward into a similar cone-shaped object .
- The two cones meet and are oriented flat surface to flat surface .
- I've lost the url of this company but you may find it somewhat inspirational, if you can track it down . ( It may be in the archives at 6-moons emagazine ).

I always thought the Aquarius 3 was kinda cool looking, and checked the store and eBay periodically, until realizing there were only 4 pairs made. :(

(2nd set from right..pic from lib)

- think I'd find a better listening environment tho. what is the model with the 4 ports at the top ?

I think I have some more pictures of the difraction plate somewhere. Here's one you can look at. With a shallow cabinet you may be able to make something along the same lines.

Hi,

Here we are .

- The full review of the "Jupiter", made by duevel, is here ! (http://www.6moons.com/audioreviews/duevel3/jupiter.html) It's archived at http://www.6moons.com/audioreviews/header_audio_reviews.jpg (http://www.6moons.com/audioreviews/audioreviews.html)

- Well my memory is really half-baked / I was forgetting the integrated, exponential horn flare .
- That compression driver is larger than I remember ( type ??? ) .
- The woofer on the bottom right is clearly made by RCF .
- A woofer aiming straight up will need a super strong motor ( highish BL figure ) to maintain the cone in place / I'm a bit leery that the old le10a is up to this challenge / cone sagging might be a problem .

- Looks like a lot of fun locanti .

Aquarius 3 meets Ohm Walsh "F"
:)

As a Walsh "F" owner, I have to disagree. The Walsh F driver radiates off the BACK of the cone and is made up of 3 different materials . titanium for hf , stainless for mid and paper for lows, and being non-equidistant present a coherent image. There is nothing similar to the Walsh (except German Physiks) and the "F" and "A" are different from the rest of the OHM Walsh line.

Thanks Robb

How do they sound and is this sound the same when they're stuck to a wall?
