I have two pairs of these little fellas. Both purchased used for less than $300/pr a few yrs back. One pair I use for a home computer monitor.
The other pair I sent along with my daughter to college for her laptop in dorm. Wanted her to begin appreciating quality sound.
Well, she cooked one of them (that's my girl!). Will power up (led light comes on dimly) but no sound. I took it apart hoping for a bad connection, etc. There appear to be two capacitors(?) that have oozed a glue-like substance onto the circuit board. I haven't taken any of the other ones apart to see how they look in comparison but it makes no sense to me that JBL would have assembled them looking this way. Anyone have experience repairing these spkrs? Or ar they 'throw away/replace'
at this point?
Thanks for any input
