The 5.4 mH and the 4.8 mH inductors in the low and mid sections of the 3145 crossover are sited in the 4345 reference thread as 0.63 and 0.6 DCR respectively. How much 'wiggle-room' is there in the DCR values when purchacing inductors? Alpha core inductors at the same gauge provide lower DCR than a Solen HL Air core.
There are alpha core inductors available with a DCR of 0.392; 5.6 mH; 12 awg and a 4.7 mH; DCR= 0.348; 12AWG.
Would a lower DCR be adventagous or is the DCR delta between the air core and the foil inductors insignificant?

Thanks

0.3 ohm to 0.4 ohm DCR is fine

I never liked the HL inductors, the PL are my choice.

Thanks Giskard.

Is there any advantage with the lower DCR alpha core? It is pricey...

Madisound has PL 14 awg 5.5mH 0.63.

You might be able to hear the difference between the two but I suspect most people wouldn't.

From a psychological perspective you could always talk yourself into having gone with the "better" part by using the alpha core. You could also try some of those Erse inductors. I'm sure you can find both good and bad written about them on the net.
