I'm looking for garage speakers and these L-19's would work great and are close to home. However, the woofers don't look right to me. I was hoping someone could confirm or deny this.

Thanks,

Mark

They're not JBL woofers. I wouldn't bid.

I thought they were wrong, thanks for the confirmation Don!

Take care,

If they don't sell, tell him why and get them cheap, maybe $20, and he can keep the woofs.

Last pair of 116Hs I bought on eBay for $7. Rcobb refoam kit is $23. You end up with a "right" pair of L19Bs for less than what he's asking.

L19's mighty nice, as you know.

My pair came from Santa Rosa with just one woofer (which needed refoam) for $15. Another Johnaec find, as I recall....

Mark, I have an extra pair of L110's that would work great, but they're not very close to you. ;) Probably take up too much space any way.

If you allow Mark: while we're at it, I have another L19 question. One can see L19/4301 with wrong woofers surprisingly often over here too.

Assumed the 116A/H in L19/4301 were substituted with 116H-1's – would that work as well or are there significant, read: audible parameter differences that could affect their magic?

The parameters are different, certainly, probably enough to warrant retuning.

H-3 is the recommended replacement, and while we don't know the T/S parameters on that, I did measure one and quickly concluded they were not a reversion to typical 116A/H.

I have all the stuff to test and measure A,H, and H-1. Maybe this weekend.

035TiA might be an upgrade worthy of consideration, as well....

Only ONE extra pair Larry??? Yeah, a bit too big and too nice a speaker to stick in my garage! Just looking for a smallish bookshelf, beater cabinets OK, with good and correct drivers. I will use the old Sansui 9090DB to drive them, when I get it fixed that is.

Hey Zilchster,

I will watch the auction close and try to get them for a song. Chico is less than an hours drive from me and I go there often. I may have to stop by The Sierra Nevada Brewery resturant and get a bite to eat. I may even have a beverage, or two, or three, or.........

I figured they would be a little bit too big for what you wanted them for. I do have a couple of pairs that have cabinets that are in so so condition. Not any where close to pristine like the ones I bought from you.:D

But I'll pass for two obvious reasons.

You saw them first.
Not OEM woofers.
