Just got a pair of 4312A's. Hooked them up, and sounded great. However, at higher volumes, one of them sounds like the woofer was blown. Makes a terrible rattling sound. Decided before I bought a new woofer, I would swap them from side to side. Both looked great. Hooked everything back up. SAME problem in the same speaker. Could it be a crossover?

Is the internal speaker wire dangling so that it comes in contact with the back of the woofer's cone?
Something loose in/on the cabinet (jack plate/midrange doghouse/port tube secured well)?
I had a tinneman clip wedged into the edge of a driver, stuck in the goop- but that sound would have moved with the woofer for you.
Good luck,

I'm going to pull the woofer again, and have a close look in the cabinet. Thanks!

Tube port was rattling against the back of the cabinet.
Thanks!
