Are we allowed to discuss speakers not designed, built, or sold by Altec Lansing/JBL??

Recently bought a pair of speakers that I know nothing about, and a friend of mine recommended these forums for advice; saying that you guys are the "best"... Hopefully this is true...

I've already enjoyed seeing all the neat speakers in your library section... What a neat place :)...

Well, of course feel free to discuss other speakers, as long as you're aware that all other speakers on the planet are pure crap, compared to any JBL or Altec speaker.:bs:

Actually, there was a recent post about a Bozak system for sale here; unfortunately the poster meet with an unfortunate mishap, but don't let that stop you.:banghead:

Oh, and welcome.:D

Thank you so much for the gracious welcome... :o:

My question is in regards to a pair of Dynaco A-25 speakers that I just purchased.. I am wondering where I can find crossover schematics for them, have done a number of google searches and turned up nothing... except that they are a decent "sleeper" speaker. An owner's manual would be neat to find too

I would have to agree with the reviews I've read, they are a fine sounding speaker, I really enjoy them, purchased this pair off the original owner and thus far have noticed no problems. There is nothing wrong with them, just wondering where I can find more information about them..

Am using them in my bedroom and would also like to know if there is a particular amplifier that would run them properly, they are not too effiecient, so I've been using a Pioneer SX-780 that seems to work fine.. Although I am sure there are better options out there..

Any advice about them, tales of personal experiences with them, and where I could find out more information about them would be appreciated.. Thanks SOO much.. :D, Scott..

Yep, that line of speakers had a well deserved following. Never heard them myself but try over at Audiokarma.

If you read the thread, you'll find that neither of those schematics is correct.

The correct one is here:

http://members.aol.com/basconsultants/DYNACO-A25-XO.htm

Which also features an optional HF boost mod....

Thanks Zilch, I reasoned that through reading the thread, and found a link to the actual schematics as well... but thanks for taking the time to help me find theses. My friend wasn't kidding how helpful you guys are :D.

Perhaps I'll try the "mod", could I run it with a toggle switch to try it both ways like the vintage HH Scott speakers had??

That's it, John. Must be the age gap thing again, eh? Point was that Harvey was right there on the spot some direction before you could blink.

If I don't respond immediately, I forget the question.

I have Alzheimer's and Deja Vu; I think I've forgotten this before.

LOL, quoting "Groundhog Day"...

"Have you ever had Deja Vu" ...
"Didn't you just ask me that??"

I hate to ask you guys for more help, but have also been unable to find any specs on a Lafayette LR-1500T receiver, I plan on using it with the Dynaco A-25's in my bedroom.. There seems to be no information anywhere on the net for Lafayette gear, is there a reason for this?? What I mean is, is it not worth the effort?? I was told by the previous owner that its a Hi-Fi unit...

Thanks guys..
