I inherited a set of these 601 speakers (and a 125wpc Kenwood KR-8010 receiver :)). The 601's have been recently refoamed- although not professionally, but they're functioning perfectly. The cabinets are in pretty darn good shape also. I can send photos if you're interested. This being a Lansing site, I don't look for much interest in them, but you might know someone who is interested ?
I'd love to trade them for a pair of Decade L36's.
Or maybe someone has some beat up but functioning L100's or L166's to trade ? Or, let's shoot for the moon .... maybe some Valencias ? ;)
Heck, if I was to sell them, I don't even know what they're worth or how much to ask for them- yet.

I've seen Bose fanatics out on the web that think 601's are the greatest speakers in the world, but we all have our own opinions. :blah:

Good News! at least for me that is :bouncy: that friend of mine is going to sell me his L36's afterall. We haven't agreed on a price yet, but I think around $125 will buy the pair. Maybe less.
They're in really good shape. I'd rate these things at a 9.2 or so. What blows me away is, he has never had to replace the woofer surrounds- yet.
I felt them, and they were very dry feeling, but totally intact. Probably because he hasn't used them in many many years. They've just been sitting in his family room.

Now to unload these friggin' Bose 601's !! A few sets of those things have sold on eBay within the last week for anywhere from $200 - $405 per pair. Damned, I wouldn't pay $400 for a pair of these cheap things, but oh well, some people like them. ....bamboozled by the name I suppose.

Thanks much for offering to sell me yours tho !! I wonder if I should buy yours too ? Very tempting price. But I dunno .....
