Removing caps in old networks

Hi all,

I have some old jbl networks where most of the parts are filled with an epoxy-like brown filling. Since some caps are gone, I need to replace them. Anyone knows how to remove the filling in the cans without damaging the transformers ? Thank you very much,

it's actually a wax and since it's old, should break off.

You could melt it using a double boiler.

BTW I have some of the old paper caps that I found in a JBL service center's storeroom some years ago....
