Can anyone suggest a design for a bass speaker. It needs to go very low.

She (JO) the mrs, will be playing her new Bass and cello through it. She loves
mega SPL and sub Freq, ( dont they all , if their honest ) For use at home and my place (no neigbours) I dont mind her plugging the cello into the 45's , But not the bass. I suppose its basically a very good quality S. R .

Emulate a b 480 or 2x 2235 with the bx 63 that you should have in the next few days.:)

The 2242 is available and around 850 Euro

Or this:

We can always "create" a new 2245 with 2240, E155 or 2245 baskets.

Hi Rich,

- Check out Tony Gee's Humble Homemade Website. (http://www.humblehomemadehifi.com/)
- Navigate to the "bass rig" page. (http://www.humblehomemadehifi.com/Bass-Rig.html)
- Tony has a nice design there that uses light-weight neodymium magnet Ciare speakers. Tony plays electric bass, as well as standup bass .
- I suggest book-marking his website ( for many many reasons ) / Tony is a great web-resource .

Here's one alternative: http://audioheritage.org/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=11708&highlight=2242+transmission

And another: http://audioheritage.org/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=12126

Both are probably far out...

Hi Rich

I sent you this auction by PM some time ago, because I thought you could be interested at that time:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=140135757565&ru=http%3A%2F%2Fsearch.ebay.co.uk%3A80%2Fsearch%2F search.dll%3Ffrom%3DR40%26_trksid%3Dm37%26satitle% 3D140135757565%26fvi%3D1

(2) 4645b (loaded with 2242H) for £400 in london, that could have suit your current needs nicely.

bad timing :(
