I keep an eye on the Harmon clearance site (I've gotten greattttt JBL and HK deals there) and they (very unusually) seem to suddenly have boatloads of Infinity stuff reman'd for sale... some seemingly very good prices.

We should not come down too hard on Infinity Speakers.
Take a look at two addresses listed below:

Infinity Systems
250 Crossways Park Dr
Woodbury, NY 11797

JBL Consumer Products
250 Crossways Park Dr
Woodbury, NY 11797

See something strangely similar?

Well, I'll admit that I have Infinity Speakers in my car and they sound Ok.
But, I really wish that I had crown amplifier driving them instead of the factory Toyota head unit.
The poor drivers are way under powered.

But, when it comes to my home system.
I am really glad that I have JBL drivers from:

JBL Professional
8400 Balboa Blvd.
Northridge, CA 91329
USA

Sheesh... listen, I wish I had (or could afford) to use nothing but high end JBL for everything, but...

8", 3 way cherry Infinitys marked down from 900 bucks to 200? That has to have a use somewhere.

Ummmm... just trying to ummmm... help ;)

I would buy them. Just as with the NEWER J.B.L.'s they probably sound a lot better than the really ancient gear. I have a pair of J.B.L.'s with the D-130 and 075 tweeter. I would describe the sound as quite bad by todays standards. There is no low bass at all, and the lower midrange radiates from a 15" driver, operating in total cone breakup mode. My little J.B.L. E-20's, with a 5.5" woofer, get better lows, and have a better, cleaner, more balanced, more dispersed, overall sound. Of course they won't get as much mid-bass as the D-130 15" driver.:)
