Does anyone have the org part no for the SUB1500?Why?

I decided your question was a good prompt for me to venture down into the basement and rotate my stock. :) (Yes even when stored on end these heavy coned woofers should be rotated.)

Looking at the box along with the Model Number and Serial Number there are these two numbers... not sure what they are, but maybe one is a part number:

299-750
W-52-01-202

- The above looks more like a "Parts Express" SKU number to my eyes .

Just a summary of what I have done with these over the last few years.

First of all I have been very busy running my constrution business.

As far as my 1500's I have found they are a very good woofer (as everyone already knows) but prefer them for HT as Widget has said. So I now use 2 2242's for audio L+R and 2 1500's for dedicated LFE for HT. The 42's are "just the ticket" for home subs if you have the real estate for them. Very accurate and powerful. I certainly feel that the 1500's were a GREAT bargain. I have been reluctant to move my cabs out of the theater because of weight and being in the basement but that should happen soon. The left 2242 cab sounds a bit better than the right so I will be making another this summer. As far as 1500's go I have a prefrance toward the 2.2 cabs I have over my 3.7's.

1500's crossed at 65hz 24db slope 6 db boost at 20hz with about a Q of 1.
2242's same but with a Q of about 3-4.
Here are some pics.

Glad to see you back...

Don't agree on your woofer choices though. ;)
I listened to both 2242 and Sub1500s in the same room and would not use those 18s in my hi-fi set up... I wonder if our differences are a matter of preference or simply due to your not comparing them in the same room??? Ultimately I guess it doesn't matter though as long as good music is happening at your house. :D

Good to be back!!

I have found that I like the 42's for impact (sometimes my volume hand gets the best of me:D) but I can use either or when I want to. Due to the placement and amount of delay I need (for placement) to my ears I really like the 42's.

Yes plenty of good music here:applaud:

Thanks for your replies. Maybe we could try some testing in the future to add some light to what and how my setup is in relation to others.
