For a week ago 5 boxes turned up from usa. And iīll have them in my new Cinema/stereo. Itīs Le14h-3 and iīll give thanks to the man who helped me to buy them ( he know who he is ) The other 2 horns will have 2235h under.

My cinema have 4 2245h subs and the h9800/2235h will get 2 2242.

My rack+ a 5 channel Hypex ucd 180 will feed the cinema.

For my 2435hpl drivers i donīt have any pictures yet because they are in usa. I hope they arrive soon.

John W: Yes i have a plan. I have bought 28 aircoils and some other parts for it. Iīll make a Zilch filter to them. My room is 8x12 meters

A company in the same town as i work in have made these horns. They used a 5 axled cnc. They are tool makers. The cleaning guy on the company wasnīt happy :D there is a LOT of mdf dust in the machine.

Very impressive!
I guess it will be even more impressive when it is finished!

Out of curiosity, where did you find the LE14H-3 and how much did you paid for them?

A company in the same town as i work in have made these horns. They used a 5 axled cnc.Very cool... when we made the first one for Project May we tried to do it with a three axis CNC router... didn't work too well due to the required tool extension and physical limitations of the machine. With a 5 axis machine you could even machine them out of solid wood and produce some that are nice looking like JohnW's.

Keep us posted as the system comes together.

A little update:

I got the air coils for the eq filter from Denmark yesterday ( 28 pieces )and i bought 7 battery holders too for the 9 volts battery. I hope the capacitors and inductors also comes.

To mount the drivers on the horns i have also bought 28 special "nuts" with 6 mm thread inside and a wood thread outside.

In coming weekend iīm going to make some fill and painting on the horns.

After some weeks with a lot of work on my job, i got some time this weekend to my speaker project. A friend of mine ( Patrik ) have helped me with the saw. I have maked the steel plates to mount the drivers on and painting the horns.
Tomorrow evening we will put the boxes together with glue and small wood pieces( i donīt know the english word for it, bickies ?), no screw.

For a month ago i bought some veener from an old man and he said i should take all of that he had in his storage, so i got 1000m2 veener for 300 usd :D. There is over 200m2 walnut veener to my speakers :D and he had 180 walnut batten to for 35 usd :D.

My 2435 hpl drivers are still in the us but i hope iīll get them to christmas.

Hej Mats!

First I want to congratulate you to a great job so far. Nice to see that your project is moving forward. I remember when I borrowed your 2482 horns some years ago. Back then it was all about 2226's and 2446's and the drivers where all over your place!!! I hope You will invite the nordic members for a listen when everythings finished!

I saw You are selling your hypex amps and your driveracks. What will You use instead? Did you try them out? I'm thinking of building the bigger Hypex modules (UcD700), so it would be nice to know what they sounded like.

Regards: Jakob, från snorkalla Göteborg

Hallå Jakob.

The Hypex ucd 180 works really great but there is too much power :) for my horns. I have tested a selfmade Diy 5 watt class A amp and iīm sold on these. So iīll build more of these.

I have found BSS 366T Crossover for a good price and maybe i get it.

You and everyone else is welcome to visit the south of Sweden.

Iīm still waiting for some stuff for my horns but i have 2 drivers to try with.

Hello mats
Good work, but I see you still have these ugly Elko in your amplifier output. Replaced him with a 50ĩ bypassed film capacitors. You will also need no further Protection Cap .

Speaker nr 2 is at home but need to be cleaned before entering my livingroom for testing in stereo.

After a bad winther with +300 hours work a month i
today have been cutting veener.

My project have been laying down for some months , since i havenīt got my drivers yet from Usa. My idea when i bought about the drivers where a couple of monts but this is 14 months.

I bought the Le 14h-3 and they arrived safe, good and everything. But the drivers........................................... .....

Zilch helped me to buy them in the states since i didnīt want them to be sendt to europe directly. Thanks Zilch.
After that they where sendt to a company for checking so everything where OK. But then they got stucked.

On sunday iīll put the Walnut on the speakers and i can say itīs going to be awesome.

Would anyone happen to have a .dxf file or some other suitable file to throw into a .CNC machine for the H9800? I have been exploring horn options for quite a while and this one is more interesting than most.
