View Full Version : Aluminum vs. phenolic diapharm (375 vs. 375HP)

What are the different ascoutically between those diapharms? Beside they are make from different materials. Would the Aluminum one sound more "metallic" then the Phenolic?

How many JBL drivers that have Phenolic diapharm?

Can the phenolic diapharm in the 375HP (or 2480) be replaced with aluminum one (for 2482)?

The pin lineup in the 2482 will not recieve the aluminum 375 diaphrams...The 375HPL phrams are obsolete....No the aluminum diaphrams do not sound metallic but do have a more extended HF bandwidth...Some of the phenaulic units were used as fog horns to warn ships...:D
