JBL's are getting harder to find....settled for some OK Advents....the GW cashier called a "price check" on them, the EXPERT supervisor came over and pronounced the "woofers are BLOWN" , so $5....;)

the roads in Portland are getting more bike friendly..there are dedicated bike lanes everywhere and bike only paths and green boxes at some intersections...even some bike corrals downtown..
One of the city transportation planners let on that the goal is to have more than half of all transportation via bike by 2020.

That said..it can still be dangerous out there....:( We still get 1 or 2 killed a year...most have been hit and run and it is thot to be the work of illegals with no license or insurance.

Darned..I missed the annual blessing of the bikes yesterday

Following the speeches, Reverends Dennis Parker and Ken Arnold blessed the bicycles with a prayer and by placing a few drops of bike lube on their chains. The service ended with the ringing of bike bells.

http://blog.oregonlive.com/commuting/2010/04/portland_church_develops_bicyc.html

it was at a small church downtown...but at least the newspaper reprinted the text, mebbe I'll print it out and tuck into the rack bag..:D

Leader: The Portland Bicycle Shrine was established as a place of prayer and memory in support of those in our community who travel by bicycle and in supplication for the safety of everyone on our streets. Named for the Madonna del Ghisallo in Italy, the Patron of Bicycles, our shrine is for everyone. All are welcome to come here to pray. We also welcome all who wish to dedicate a plaque in memory of loved ones who have died or give thanks for prayers fulfilled.

We will now bless the bicycles you have brought with you today, praying for your safety and joy as you ride.

Bicycles are blessed; bicycle bells are rung together at the end of the blessing.

Litany for Safe Journeys (All Standing)

Leader: May the spirit of the morning sun warm us

Response:

Protect us, Holy Spirit, breath of God, as we ride
in joy and safety

May the spirit of the rains cleanse us

Protect us, Holy Spirit, comforter of souls, as we ride
in joy and safety

May the spirit of the Douglas Firs enfold us

Protect us, Holy Spirit, sustainer of hope, as we ride
in joy and safety

May the spirit of this ancient land uphold us

Protect us, Holy Spirit, fire of love, as we ride
in joy and safety

May the rivers and valleys be our guide, and the mountains be our haven

Protect us, Holy Spirit, mother of our days, as we ride
in joy and safety

May those who have died continue in our hearts

Protect us, Holy Spirit, bearer of peace, as we ride
in joy and safety

Have not even dusted them yet.....sound fantastic - 2 eights, both active, I think- , beautiful veneer
( i'm a veneer junkie) .....they were set to bi-amp, but the wrong posts had been used, the correct ones were screwed down tight , the wrong ones were half way up ..

So I had the L7's in the HomeTheatre -tho more for the attached turntable, dont really watch that many movies- and the computers are there too, so no need to go out to the living room to hear vinyl....

L7's went away...replaced them with the Yammy NS-690II's which were great in the LR,,but never sounded that nice in the HT environment ...bass shy ..dont know why.

Got energetic today and pulled the Yammys and substituted the A/D/S 1290's ...I felt bad abt storing and not using them- anyway,,WHAT A DIFFERENCE :applaud:

WOW ...back to the sound the L7's were producing ...I dont really know why, but a Happy Camper am I...:D ....they really do deserve the rave reviews they garnered

I bet those sound really nice. :applaud:

I have a pair of aDs 710s with those same wonderful mids and tweeters.

They sit out of the rotation, but I swapped them into the bedroom system a couple of weeks ago while I had to put new foam on the JBL 4425 monitors.

I was very happy with the 710s, using with a Manley tube amp and Cambridge Audio 640p phone amp. Wonderful sounding mids and HF's.

YES..between cast drivers , German walnut cabinets , bi-ampability , (even a hidden compartment for the elusive Energiser ) they are clear and very detailed and musical...a nice quality speaker...I walked into a thrift and saw them as I was crossing the doorway..:D ...couldnt check them out in store as there is a hidden screw down panel hiding the binding posts, so bought them on faith....worked out well...:bouncy:

biking around today and found this pair of AR90's at GW...electric guy assured me that the hf & mf's are OK...but the front 8 and the 2 side firing 10's all need refoaming....the veneer was fantastic,,grills not too bad ....downloaded the manual..AR claims a FR of 23hz to 30khz..101 pounds not bad .(no, didnt bungie them to the bike, had to make a return trip with the truck...GW drone & I had trouble lifting them to the truck)
we'll see.

LATER;SUNDAY ...got up and put low signal to them briefly , hf and mf very clear and good condition....:applaud::applaud::applaud:

.HiFi engine says http://www.hifiengine.com/manuals/acoustic-research/ar-90.shtml

"The Acoustic Research AR-90 are very high precision devices, designed and built to tolerances comparable only to professional studio microphones. They far exceed the performance capabilities of the classic laboratory reference standard and AR LSTs.
All of the modern technology in speaker design, as well as the most sophisticated of computer techniques, were used, not only in the development, but continually throughout their design and manufacture.
The three most distinctive applications of this technology in the AR-90s are the Acoustic Blanket, the vertical, upper-range driver array, and the positioning of the two woofers, one on each side of the enclosure.
The former two insuring unprecedented imaging and precision of localization and the latter unequalled flat frequency response in any listening environment, particularly at lowest music frequencies.
Indeed, the clarity of the AR-90s will make you aware of limitations in associated equipment, including the finest electronics. As a result, any improvements in the chain preceding the AR-90 will seem to continually improve the overall performance."

well, I finished them up and could only get 10 minutes listening in....but they are
very nice.....extended highs and powerful bass.:D

similar to the departed L7's....as least with the limited listening so far..

on the very last screw of the last driver to be installed , the powerdriver slipped and poked
a hole in the foam of the 8 ...first time I've ever done that, prolly because they are so heavy to
lay on their backs to work on ....installing drivers vertically is a bitch...:( (last time I'll ever do that)

so 1 eight to re-refoam .....and I'm very critical of my own work, and there is 1 ten incher that
works fine, but I wasn’t happy with the appearance of the refoam, so I'll redo that also.

they are nice enough to make sure they are done right, even if I'm the only one who knows what isn't 100% perfect.:crying:

got to wondering about the surface area comparison of the 14 on the 250ti's and the 2 tens of the AR's.

according to my HS math

a 14 is abt 154 sqin.
2 tens are abt 157 sqin
a 12 is abt 113

thanx...glad I'm not the only one.....a dumb rookie mistake and I've done so many that its nearly inexcusable......that new glue was great stuff, very difficult to remove, guess I paid my penance for stupid damages. The 8 is out for re-re-foaming right now.

I had them up and going at good volume yesterday and was blown away ....the highs and mids are really nice , and the bass sounds like a much bigger box...the walnut veneer is furniture grade , oiled them up...Oh My !!! If my Denon AVR is 4 ohm compatible, these may displace the a/d/s L1290's

One of my rehabbing friends sent me an email saying
"Those are in my top 5 wants of ANY audio gear.......if you sell them let me know."

My AR experience goes back to AR3's, 3A's, 4's, 4x's and PS 428 towers in the HT ......these certainly are a different animal......since they are a little earlier, they seem like an inspiration for JBL L7's ...ie: 4 way , hf, mf, 8 in lm on the front and side firing woofers , very close in physical size.

BUT ...

only 1 logo , 1 rat shack woofer , no grills , 1 dented 044ti , 1 frayed screen etc..etc

BUT

they sound very nice....I think that a nice non-donor pair should now be on my radar..

Very nice AR's!

This 250Ti owner eventually discovered that the 120Ti is a better "spare" to have in the house because you get a set of 104H's in the deal too. Plus they seem to be more common and a bit underpriced at the moment. Not to mention that they have bass the 18 can only dream of :).

YMMV...but I'd encourage any 250Ti owner wanting to have spares in the house to find a nice pair of 120Ti while they are still cheap...

Nice looking speakers and stands. Interesting -- OEM ... as in, JBL sold those stands?

I ran across and rescued a pair of JBL L-46s. one bent back corner, small scratches but they sound good, and do produce a lot of in your face fun for such small boxes.

I think they were designed for the Decade/Century series. There are a couple of threads about them , slightly low for my needs.

You remember those AR90's from a bit back ?? they are in the BR/HT and being placed on both sides of the bed kinda muffled them....Recalled that I have 2 super valuable BIC passive subs...that now lay on their sides, raising the AR's about 16 inches , sounds really fine now...best function those subs ever performed.

I certainly agree with 'hear it for yourself' and be satisfied with your own findings.

I've done this myself and have no problem spending cash where I find value such
as in workmanship and quality connectors (or shiny things) and appropriate cable,
having made more than a few to very high standards.

True story

I was selling Hi Fi in Glasgow so I have a customer for a tasty small system. I remember this very well because it hinged entirely on the cable direction thing.
The system was :-

Oracle Alexandia TT
Denon Dl 103 cart
PS audio pre amp /PSU
Quad 303 power amp ( UK equivalent of a Crown D60) ish
JBL 18Ti

Hooked it all up and it sounded like doggy doo. It should not have, at all. The one component that was unique was a custom cable about 20ft long rca- 4pin din to get into the quad power amp as the guy wanted the power amp as near to the speakers as poss and out of sight.
After a lot of head scratching I re made the pre power connection with the cable in the OTHER direction.
The transformation was extraordinary. I will not waste adjectives but suffice to say the system was sold instantly.
Bet you that fellow still has that set up coz it sounded lovely.

Now please tell me why that works. :dont-know: but all I need to know is it does and all you need to do is try it out -- and its free !!

I must emphasise again I was THE biggest sceptic of this , it just went against everythig I was ever taught , but ??????????????????????????

grumpy
07-28-2010, 06:17 PM
I don't doubt it at all.

I'd -guess- shielded cable, with the shield only connected on one end, with the ground
connected to shield at the reference/source end sounding better (or component grounding
arrangements that happened to be more compatible with the cable the other way 'round).

There are many ways to improperly ground/shield or otherwise attach a sensor/source to
an amp or pre-amp. University of Rolla-Missouri used to offer a good course on shielding
and grounding...

Steve Schell
07-28-2010, 09:47 PM
Ha! Grumpy, you beat me to it as I had the same thought. What else could it be, since it is an AC signal?

There is much mystery surrounding interconnects and speaker cables, and it is not all caused by hind-end audio marketing foolishness. After all these years I really don't know why my field coil compression driver horn systems sound much better wired with simple 26 gauge copper magnet wire than with most any heavier/more complex geometry audio salon speaker cable, but they do. Lucky for me, my favorite cable costs about 50 cents per mile!

SEAWOLF97
09-03-2010, 02:53 PM
They were worth that (probably just in the connectors).
Just don't expect magic, or you might hear it :p.

I've never been a big believer in megabuck cables (and dont have the discretionary cash to play around with them) , but did make a connector change that IS audibly superior...

I pulled my modest "interconnects" from the "CD out" to "MD in" ...and replaced with a TOSLINK ...WOW :applaud::applaud:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toslink

The guys over on the MD forums claim that the MD deck has a better DAC than most CD players and so , despite ATRACS , a CD digitally dubbed to MD can sound better than the original CD.

I'm seem to generally hear more clarity and am very happy with the results.

actually I dont have anything special ... grabbing at thrifts, garage sales and mostly trading with friends is how things come in...burned out on eBay and now sell only on CL.
I have a permanent demo setup, amp, stands, wiring so that I can sub in any set on short notice , the source is loaded with best tunes...like a real demo room.

BUT...

I sell at reasonable prices , nobody bargains with me ....and I've got a good eye for what has value
(most of the time, not always)

and ..(this is weird)

I seem to pick up groupies along the way (return buyers , to be nice abt it) ...the VNs with 30 some odd pair speakers ...on eBay, I had 1 buyer win OVER 3000 auctions that I put up ...yes, three thousand ..anything I wud list..he wud buy.

now that the bigger speakers are out of my storage room , I can actually see what other treasures are in there :barf:

was hauling out smaller speakers yesterday....found a pair of Advent Baby III's and some Logik L-10's
(made in Canada) .....put them on the test rig to evaluate.

Now I always kinda liked the sound of Advents, BUT , those little Logik's just outclassed the bigger Baby's by a large margin. Remembered that Logik wasnt around for very long...did they morph into somebody else or just disappear ??

mechanical operation is silent and sure and smooth ....sounds good , tho I think it can sound better ...printed out the manual (thanx) and will double check all the settings. Appears all original and doubt the anything has been adjusted since being boxed.

Looks like very nice condition! Do you like how it plays?

put on a newerish (50g ?) disk yesterday ....it was quite a bit floppy...one of those TV ad specials...the center hole was very tight over the spindle and I didnt get it all the way on/down...so when it started up , well..it was like a carnival ride.:eek::eek:

the Denon dynamic servo tracer arm tracked it beautifully, up & down with abt 1/2 inch deflection...but no problem.:D

the owners manual showed a DL-60 cart supplied, but it has a DL-160 ....looked up the specs and recommended tf is 1.6g (+- .3) ..it was set at 1.8 , I like to go light as operationally feasible , so set it at 1.3g , and its really nice there.

Please tell me there was a 70's era pentastar MOPAR ignition key on the ring. I swear, after the day I've had that would absolutely make my night! :p

I think I mentioned in another post quite some time ago that I had a pair of ESS Labs Heil Air-Motion based speakers, and as I recall them (though we're going back quite some time, and I hope my tastes have refined over the years) the top end was marvelous. Did you ever hook these up for a run?

So I was back out on the bike today and walked into SA ....I could see large speakers in the back of the store that sure looked (from 60 feet) like Jubals .... scurried over to them and NO,
not JBL ...they were Bozak , Listener Series LS400 .....no price on them, called for a price check and the manager gave me a deal ..paid for them and gotta go pick them up tomorrow.

So I went to GeeDub salvage abt 2 weeks ago, as I was walking in ..a friend was walking out. He asked if I wanted the stuff in his cart as he was tapped out....I took a look..a tired old HK receiver and a pair of SpeakerLab 1's ....the SL1's looked like cheapo's ...8 inch, 2 way ...
vinyl peeling around the edges, woofer sealed in with bathroom caulk ...etc

Even tho i estimated them to be 5 , mebbe 10 bux , I left them there.

Last weekend I went back ...the SL1's were still there , tho now over in the speaker section...I looked at them again ....price sticker WAS $135 :eek::eek::eek::eek: ....get me outta there, NOW.

But today went over to a church retail thrift and found a pair of RS MiniMouse 7's ....
in "LIKE NEW CONDITION" ....tag was $2 ...seems I'm now better off in the retail thrifts than the salvage ones...:o::(

havnt seen many tree octos ...lots of skunks (mainly on CL) and its squirrel city ...and rather weird , we've had multi generations of house finches living in my patio rafters since 1977 ..all of a sudden last weekend , a new behavior from the flock ...for 2 days they would hover just outside the windows starring IN and sometimes pecking on the glass ....never figured what that was all about ..mebbe they just want to listen to the tunes ?? :dont-know:

My flirtation with higher end interconnects has ended ,,,,I did some A/B with the Philips and the AQ's and heard NO/ZERO difference ....figured the AQ are worth more on CL than in my system.

Took some pix of my SP-25 for comparison. The platter is much lighter then your M2, but my SP-15's platter is about the same weight. The SP-25 and 1200 series share many of the same parts, and I suspect the M2 does as well.

thanx for the pix, Paul ...it does seem that the SP-15 and M2 share a lot ...tho the border around the platter mat on the 15 looks wider ?

about a year ago there was a CL ad ....."Stereo & record player ...$125" ...no models listed.

looked at the photo and it was an SP-15 mounted in an oak plinth/table with an EPA 250 arm, Kenwood 96xx receiver and large Infinity towers ....I called and left a message ...she called back during dinner to let me know that it was sold, but "would I be interested in the record collection ??"

everything belonged to her brother who was a Portland DJ , he died of AIDS in 1981 and all the stuff had been sitting since then...I was pissed at missing the gear (same TT turned up on CL about a month later for $600) .....but went over to Tigard to check the vinyl ....wow, looked mint.
She was in a hurry, so I was only able to take out 60 ( at 3/$1) , but went back next week and snagged 25 more.

Whenever I see a SP-15 that old story is dredged back to active memory ...:crying:

Platter is 13 3/8" at the widest point, the mat is 11 5/16".

Sorry you missed out on that great deal - what a shame. My SP-15 is a fixer-upper with speed control issues. I've done some homework and have found that this particular problem is cured 99% of the time by resoldering the PCB's. If that doesn't fix it, then its most likely the failure of the speed control chip, which is NLA. In that case its nice cosmetically, so will be used to salvage a working but fugly table. Hope to get to this one this winter - plinth, tonearm, cart, etc.. I plan to AB the 15 and 25 since they are dimensionally the same.

did not know that the Solids were a B&W product, but sure are nice for their size.

B&W previously offered a range of electronics (amplifiers etc.) under the Aura brand, but it was discontinued in 1997. Other sub-brands were 'John Bowers' for the Active One loudspeaker and preamp and 'Rock Solid' for a lifestyle speaker range. The B&W 'Blue Room' brand for 'Pod' speakers disappeared as these are currently produced and sold by Scandyna.[1] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bowers_%26_Wilkins#cite_note-0) From 1988 to 1996 B&W ran their own record label (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Record_label).

I have a Technics SP-15 turntable in a custom baltic birch plinth with Rega RB250 tonearm, Mitchell Technoweight, Cardas rewired with DIN plug and external RCA cabling. The plinth is wrapped in 1/4" cherry and rosewood trim, arm board is Peruvian walnut. This is the 12th plinth that I have built. I will include an Audioquest 404B phono cartridge with low hours at my asking price. I will also include a TTweights Delrin/Walnut mat. I have various other cartridges from $125 to $550, please call for more information. Not willing to part out or sell individual parts from the turntable, all or nothing. It's complete and sounds very nice. I have been building and setting up turntables for many years and this one is superb

I wonder if the pictured record cleaning brush is included ?? ;)

Thanks Tom, I've been looking that one over... it even has the arm I was planning to start with. It would save me money and effort in the long run. Also, I can swap the SP15 and SP25 as they have the exact same mounting requirements.

Unfortunately all cash right now has to go into the house. :( so the timing is bad. A couple of months from now and I'd jump on it in a heart beat.

If nothing else I'll make contact as you suggest - I hadn't thought about that before.

Also another CL seller has the factory plinth for the SP15/SP25 but wants much more than its worth. Also, not the style I'm looking for.

A rep from a local playhouse just came to buy it ...to be used as a prop in a stage production :p :rotfl:

later: http://www.stereophile.com/interviews/136/
in 1973, Walter Becker, from Steely Dan, asked me to design a speaker system to use in mixing Pretzel Logic. That system included a new subwoofer I'd developed that had excellent transient response. Everybody fell in love with that subwoofer. All the guys in the band wanted one—and so did our customers with Quads and Magnaplanars, because they blended extremely well with those speakers. Other Quad and Maggie dealers noticed how many of those speakers we sold and wanted to know what our secret was; when we told them, they wanted to buy our new subwoofers, too. In 1974, we formed a separate corporation for manufacturing subwoofers on the second floor of our Beverly Hills store on Wilshire Boulevard. I continued to record, and I even cut some demo records from my tapes. One day, mastering engineer Doug Sax walked into the store and heard his Missing Linc album playing on the radio. He got so excited hearing his record that I got excited too, and decided this would be a great business to be in, and that I had to start doing direct-to-disc recordings. We recorded two direct-to-disc albums at an outside studio, which meant we had to lug all of our gear over to an empty office that was next-door to the cutting lathe—not an ideal way to work. So we bought our own Neumann lathe and set up our own operation back at the store. We'd record at night and sell hi-fi during the day. About that time, we got our hands on some tiny loudspeakers by a company called Visonik [David]. We hooked them up with our subwoofer and everyone was amazed at how good they sounded together. The Visoniks had wonderful, clean, natural midrange and highs, and the woofer just put the frosting on the cake. We decided to build a subwoofer with a crossover built-in for those speakers—we called it the Goliath. The "David and Goliath" system marked the beginning of the modern era of small satellite speakers mated with subwoofers.

my son came to visit at thanksgiving , brought along his filled up 160GB iPod ....if you've ever read any of my posts ....MTBF has been mentioned a couple of times ..

TIE IN ...his super Pod hard drive with entire collection croaked. 160 GB of music gone

he has no hard copy to go back to ...
IE: I strongly believe in hard copy backups ..comes from years of mainframe ops.

I grew up making LP anthologies to 8 track, then cassette , then R2R ...now they go to CDR or MD ...MD to me has a fuller, richer sound and the little portables drive my headphones better than the pod.

Your sale is prolly out of my riding radius and I already have "pro-type" decks on each system , but if you are a person who does home taping , well MD sure is a lot of fun , sounds great and has nice editing capabilities. :bouncy:

My dad left one of them behind - it is incredibly impractical but a GREAT mantle piece. Very easy to fine-tune - love the thing. He was awarded it after decades at American Cyanamid. You know, back in the day when jobs were careers...? :(

I talked to the guy today ...evidently it had small defects and didn't go high

Winning bid:

so recently I picked up an M&K sub, AR-xb TT, Akai Pro PEQ6 - EQ ..then 2 pairs of Sennheiser headphones and had traded some little Monitor audio bookshelves for a BGW 320B , and that Sansui TT that's coming along nicely..thot it a pretty good haul.

yesterday was raining so hard that couldn't get out on the bike ...I have a CL search for JBL on an icon and hit it a couple of times a day ....250Ti's in Portland for a good price came up :D ...checked the ad time and it was only 12 minutes old :bouncy::bouncy: ...shot off an email with my phone number and waited ...lots of incoming phone calls, but not the one I wanted (even the OL's friend who jabbers for 2 hours) ....got rid of them quick ...just in case .....;)

middle of lunch and THE CALL comes through ...the ad calling ...I was first responder.. got all the info and packed up to roll. 2E was going to bring lunch over to her sis instead, but I talked them into a road trip to be my bodyguards. :o:

Got to this hard to find home in L.O. in a pouring rain ..street so narrow that I cant turn around, had to go to the corner and back all the way down to his house. ....walk in and he and wife looking glum.:eek::eek:..they had broken the speakers. .. while the 2 of them wrestled the 250's out to the LR , they bumped something into the 108H and made a little hole. the rest of the cabs were immaculate and together with grills are better shape than my set...Teak had esp beautiful grain. ......so we knocked another hundred off for the driver damage and hauled them to the truck ...non eventful drive home (driving like a 90 y.o.) ...so these 2 little Viet women and I pulled them out and onto the dolly and into the inside storage room.

Veneer very dry ..responded great to oil. removed the 108H and smoothed the puncture from the back side ...used refoam white glue on the front and back and it came out pretty well ...OL couldn't spot where the repair is ...debating whether to replace it or not.
Cabs & grills so good that now not sure which pair to keep and what one to sell ...ordered up a Rick Cobb refoam kit last night ...and been oiling some more this AM ....picture is in UN-oiled state w/ my old grills on them. Cannot find any skirt veneer damage as is standard on this model

wish I had room to run a second pair ..:( but these will be a nice catch for someone when I'm done ..in a month or so...

I am selling a pair of JBL 250ti speakers in good condition. The bottom woofers need to be re-foamed (I have included pictures of them) but the drivers work fine and the case only has some minor nicks and scratches from being moved several times. They are big, heavy and take up more space than I have to give. I called around and if you want to have them re-foamed by a professional it will cost between $110 and $175 depending on who you take it to. I have also included links to a do-it-yourself kit and a video showing how to do it if you have the time and motivation (which I do not). Cash only, I will not do payments and they will need to be picked up. This is already a pretty good deal as these speakers usually go for $1000 or more depending on condition so please don't try to low ball me and only contact me if you are serious about purchasing. Thank you

P.S. If the ad is still up they are still available

I had a "first to me" problem on the Sansui TT ....the platter would not spin ....motor ran, replaced belt ...NO SPIN so I wondered for the first time " do spindles turn or are they stationary" ?? on the old Duals, it locked into place with a notched bottom , but my Denons move with the platter this one DID NOT move ...opened the bottom and removed the keeper screw , still no turn or answer. there was a little room on the topside between the splindle bottom flange and securing nut ..got a pryer in there and slowly the spindle came off ..from there it was easy to see that it should turn, so cleaned it up , lubed it and now spins like crazy ..

.
rode down to GW yesterday ....found a decent Technix SL-D2 with a good Shure R1000-EDT (good stylus too) ...
I'm reading that it's an M75Ed ...anyhoo, I bungied it to the rear rack and carefully ferried it home.

seems to work OK

then the OL came home, she bird dogs things that I mite like to flip.
she noticed a good Yamaha 320 TT at the GW retail store...so I went back
with her...it seemed OK, but had a note "needle at checkout counter" , so I
had no idea what came with it.

went up to the checkout and asked for it .... wow , the elusive, never b4 seen (by me)
and rather rare Shure V-15 ...P-mount :D (with a good looking stylus)

I've seen and used many V-15's and only heard rumors of a P-mount version,
but here was an actual one, with the adapter to use in a standard CD4 arm.

could not leave it there for some other knucklehead to buy...;)
