Hello.

I Am Maarten from holland (the netherlands)

I have a couple of altec lansing 3 way speakers.

My question is do somebody know what for model of altec this is?
And are these original altec's?

the drivers are:

HF 299-8A
HF MR902 16HF
LF 3156 16 inch

Hello.

Can it be that this was a export model?

They are delivered in the 90's in the netherlands by a official altec dealer.

The sound is very good and open, only the bass can be harder.

Mebey an processor?

... crossovers/brackets appear to be DIY, to my eye. Perhaps an altec
cab was "re-used".

The 3156 is a radiator type with overhung voice coil. The 3154 model was used in the Altec A-10 produced to compete with JBL cinema 4000 series.

It's a excellent woofer. But the 515 G Bass horn with an underhung voice coil remains the best woofer for cinematic reproduction.
