is a two way network with 800hz suitable ?

Unless thats a Pass labs xover , or something of equal pedigree. I would'nt go there . It would be like straining a rare single malt whiskey through a paint rag.

Just an opinion based on research and the advice of some clever people on this forum.

however its too technical for me to understand.
in fact i have an accuphase f-20 on hand and just want to make sure whether it will be suitable when matching with 9800se at 800 cross point.

The literature talks of 4th order slopes but aren't those 3rd and 1st order? Can someone with more experience clear that up for an idiot like me?

Merlin,

I do not talk to an idiot right now. ;)
It is not only the electrical deviding network but also the transducer which limits the frequency response. It must be considered both.

The circuit diagramm shows that the speaker is switchable for biamping. Your user manual should show as well.

The crossover frequency is 800 Hz, so you would not change it. Keep the slopes as they are in the passiv network.

Planing a crossover on your own is not that easy if you want an improvement. Maybe you contact a technician who can help in manual work (and advice).

There are plug in crossover boards. I woud suggest contacting the factory as they may well have a board now for the Everest. See page four of the manual.

when K2 9800 where launched mark levinson did some special amps that had the built in crossover slops

as i remember and saw on the Japan site
