Both pair of L pads on my newly aquired L100 are in need of cleaning. After removeing the crossovers from the cabinets I found that the unit is pressed on and does not have any openings to spray in contact cleaner. Not wanting to damage the L pad cases trying to remove the back I was wondering if a member has tried drilling a very small hole or holes to spray in contact cleaner, I would like to salvage the orignal L pads if possible. Going thru my spare parts I have more L100 crossovers/L pads that differ in size and some with and some without vent holes on the back of the L pads. For now I have decided to use a pair of crossovers with L pads that have vents on the backs of the L pads and I sprayed in contact cleaner in both and they are working fine. I have four (4) new Fostex 8 ohm L pads but they look like they would be a tight fit on the crossover board and L would like to avoid useing them if I can clean all the original L pads that were mfg in Japan and should be of very good quality. Appreciate any suggestions from members.

It's been a while, but they pry off, as I recall.

Some have a retention tab that needs unbending, as well....

Where can I get new ones? My 4311B's need them as well.

The 15 watt L-Pads from Parts Express fit in 4311Bs, as I recall.

[The 50 watt ones don't.... ]

15W or 50W? Neither seems rated for a 4311B. Is this not the case? L-Pads watts are different than the speaker watts rating? Can I use the 15W?

The original JBL ones are 10 watt, so, yes, 15s will work fine....

Thanks. There's a few of them. Which (http://www.partsexpress.com/webpage.cfm?webpage_id=3&CAT_ID=48&ObjectGroup_ID=196)do you recommend?

Well, no, there's only two 15W. You pick the shaft length you need, is all.

Also just squeeks in on the crossover board as well and its rated for 50W. At least on the veticle array crossover not sure about the staggered array crossover.
