I am looking to build some (WAF passing) enclosures for my recently remodeled TV room (11' x 15').

The woofers I have at my disposal are Altec 416As and 414-8Cs.

I was looking at the pretty simple, small vented enclosure plans on the LH site (model 612 and 614), but without ever hearing one, I am hesitant to take this on as a project without some advice.

What would you guys suggest for these woofers?

I have no experience with your drivers but there are a couple of things you can do. Grab a shareware box program and see what the drivers can do. If WAF is an issue size does matter! So see what box size they need for the lowend you want assuming you aren't running subs.

The link is to a free shareware program with an very good library of Theile Small paramters for drivers. One of your drivers is in the library. You may be able to get the T/S on the other driver at one of the Altec sites in the links on this site. Some have a good T/S library of drivers that you can load into the database if need be.

Have Fun and send pictures!
