Hi Guys
Has anyone measured the the actual inductor values on the N150a network? I am looking to upgrade the 2.5mh in series with the 128h and also the .75mh in series with the LE5-12. I would guess that the original part at best would be +- 10% of the stated value.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, Steve

I'll measure the inductors and their DCR values in the morning.

Hi Giskard

Thank you for the help! I have measured the dcr with my ohm meter and it looks to be 1ohm, if my research is correct I should be able to adjust the dcr of a new inductor by adding a small amount of fixed resistance in series. Is this theory true?

I have found the L150a's to respond exceptionally well to modification, at this point I have replaced the internal wire, caps and resistors. The two inductors are next, and then I will ballance the mf & hf with the Lpads and replace them with fixed resistors!

What will be next? mabey the voice coil leads? Not a chance!

Thanks Again
Steve

Ok

I guess I'll post this for reference:

N150
2.5 mH #58593 air core 1.03 ohms DCR
1.0 mH #59215 air core 0.72 ohms DCR
3.5 mH #56138 air core 7.50 ohms DCR
1.0 mH #57129 air core 7.55 ohms DCR

N150A
2.5 mH #61753 iron core 0.62 ohms DCR
OR
2.5 mH #60763-01 air core 0.83 ohms DCR
0.75 mH #60623-04 air core 0.68 ohms DCR
3.5 mH #56138 air core 7.50 ohms DCR
0.30 mH #60623-01 air core 0.48 ohms DCR

Yes, you can add series resistors. JBL does just that in later systems such as the XPL Series.

Yes, the L96, L112, and L150A (same network in all three) do respond well to mods.
