I just noticed that a crossover upgrade kit (http://www.troelsgravesen.dk/JBL_L100.htm) for the L-100 is now for sale. The price is $250. Although I'm not selling anything, the parts for the design I previously posted here (http://audioheritage.org/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=13105) cost about half that.
Designed by Troels Gravensen (sponsored by a Danish electronic parts manufacturer), he discusses the now familiar problems of the vented cabinet that is too small for the 123A woofer (no mention of Zilchplugs!), the large variability among different LE5-2 midrange drivers, and of course the non-standard driver polarity.
His crossover appears, at first glance, to be somewhat different than what I posted previously. It does seem to present a solution for the apparent great variability among LE5-2 midrange drivers.
Any comments?
