Anyone know the protagonist, Bill Fitzmaurice (http://www.billfitzmaurice.com/)...?

Anyone know the protagonist, Bill Fitzmaurice (http://www.billfitzmaurice.com/)...?He is a frequent contributor to Speaker Builder/AudioXpress. His work has always appeared to be rather low end... no pun intended.:D

After looking at some of his photos and reading the link about subs, I think I won't take him too seriously. He's using effing piezo tweeters for high's?
...Errr...aahhh...No thank you.;) :p :D :barf:
Facing horn loaded subs into a corner for SR? I don't think I'd enjoy being in that room.
The sound system...regardless of what is being played back, be it a live group of musicians or a DJ system...should be both musical and enjoyable to listen too.....none of which should be home to piezo tweeters....ever!
I have worked with a local SR company that coupled the JBL SRx direct radiator subs center stage with nice results.
The only caveat with that is potentially blowing away the audience right in front.
I still prefer a balanced system in stereo on both sides.

I have worked with a local SR company that coupled the JBL SRx direct radiator subs center stage with nice results.Acousto-physics ( ) supports this.
The only caveat with that is potentially blowing away the audience right in front. The converse, from L/R side-stacked subs is a monster bass-coupled alley up the centre aisle... :scold:
I still prefer a balanced system in stereo on both sides.Yea. The trick is to trick (read: use) the acousto-physics. Applying a small bit of either differential gain or differential delay to one of the L/R subs can work wonders...

Actually, using the corner as an extension for the horn mouth can work. Done correctly, you can achieve good sound. However, with todays power and speakers to handle the power, I dont think its neccesary to have to do this type of corner loading anymore.
Now that horns are back in vogue, so too, do all the old tricks of using horns come back to light as well.
But, piezos? No, Ill pass.
