VOICE OF THE THEATER

ALTEC
Here is your chance to own a RARE pair of history!
This pair of Altec Voice of the Theater speakers came out of a local high school that moved to a brand new location. They look AMAZING for their age, however they are a little dusty from sitting in the wall for so long. The surrounds on the speakers even looks good although I'm not certain because I didn't power them on because I don't have the right equipment to do so. The only flaws I would say are a very few small nicks in the wood and part of the original label has come off - the speakers are still their original gray paint!!
They have a 802-D driver, H-811 B Horn, N-800-D dividing network, the serial numbers are 28812702 and 28812710. I didn't open up the cabinets to see what model the speaker was because I wanted to leave them in the condition I found them in - untouched!
Take a look at the pics!
NO RESERVE!
High bidder pays and arranges shipping - due to size these would have to be frieghted. I would suggest to pick them up since they are in really really good condition and I wouldn't want them to get ruined in shipping.

Pull the driver, and transformer, and install BMS driver and redesign the x-over and you'll be set for jammin by the pool.
Nice looking kitty OBJ.

Reduced buy it now by $300.00.
Hurry, someone grab these!
:D
Maybe he sees this thread.
Note to seller if you are reading this thread:
I am not making fun of you or your speakers. I am simply stating that the price you are asking is a bit high to try and get in this marketplace at this present time. I am sure 100% of the Altec owners in this forum would love to see prices achieved like that always, but the price/demand curve is low for these speakers. Main factor is size - nothing else.
Good luck on your auction and I can hope I brought some more interested parties to your auction using this wonderful forum.
If you have not already done so, we would love to have you as a member. It is free to sign up.
Thank you for your time.

Ahh, aren't kitties fun?
I love my cat. He is such a doll. I got him from the humane society two years ago. I tried getting another cat for more company, but he ran that cat out of the house. I guess he likes being his own boss --- kind of like his daddy. :D
Here is a picture of him when I first got him. He still looks the same, but like most of us - he has gained a pound or two since.
;)
When I have my speaker grilles off, he likes to go to the port tubes and pull out some of the insulation with his paws. Argh.
Oh well, love him anyways.

The fact that these came from the high school has got to add 2-3k alone.
I'll bet that the AV kids have suffered with the crappy sound of those things for 40 years.

Who in their right mind would [want] them?I'd have to measure them to be certain, but I'd guess the prospects for home use are not good.
'Course, there's plenty of folks imagine they are the best what ever was, and their own ears are the final arbiters of all matters audio.

My manager of the nightclub wants them! He saw them. Has to have them! Wants me to "fix" them, and install them for the online Bose jukebox he had to have!
Someone please shoot me!
Scott.
