Old and tatty grey cabs near London might suit someone. LF's look to have been worked on -- no real surprise

Would you want those and then ship them to Canada ? or are you selling ?
I have no interest. Should go to a good home though there are not that many floating around.

I have been offered a job in Canada. I also have a little barn in France to convert. The money they are offering would do a lot of renovation work.I could'nt see myself retired there. I lived there for 20 years. The winters are too hard . It would be great to spend some time with family though and meet some of the people from the forum too.
The 4333a's are the same as the summit. They were my first taste of JBL. Infact, wanting to build L 300 clones brought me to the forum. I don't want to sell any of my collection, but I will have to soon. Even then I would offer them to the forum first. I could'nt take the help and support from here and then turn around and sell it back at a profit. Its bad enough selling paintings.
I'm new here, I've made some friends and hope to make more. Life is bugger all without good friends around. London is not for me ; I think its a shit hole to be honest. All these people stepping all over eachother for a pound note. I won't even start on the crime thing . Let's just say, I live in Peckham, South east , London. ;)
Shit , sorry Mac. Back to the 4333a's I bid £300 and it did'nt meet the reserve. He's been watching US ebay. My guess is ,his reserve is £500. They ain't worth that to me . I could build a clone for that.I did send him an email asking when and by whom the recones were done.

to be worth 6-7 UK dont you think. 150 for the slots 350 for the horns with lens ( 60.75 ) 150 for the iffy 15's oh! and the x/o's say 75 oh! and boxes 100 AND grilles ------------ in my book that would be . We shall see.
I'm out of here just hearing the massacre news in VA.

They are sitting at £310 and the reserve has gone. From the scant Bidding history they give us in the UK you appear to be winning Rich.
You could have a wee bargain I think?

yep ! there mine:applaud:
Kind of a stretch considering what else is happening in my JBL world. I have had to sell my 4312's to make it happen. £ 360 or $ 720 in real JBL money. I feel really lucky. They were reconed 8 years ago by Mike Porter. He's the man round here. These will be brilliant in the upstairs system with the Bryston and the Nak pre-amp.
The summits were the first JBL I heard .
I will be Edmonton based in Canada. Atleast to start with. My parents are there so spending time with them will be wonderful. Shopping with Mom and Fishing with Dad . I have two neices at the Royal Winnipeg Ballet school. So I'll be heading to Winnipeg on a regular basis. It would be really nice to meet up with you Guys.
I will post some photo's on the weekend:D

Hi Folks,
I picked them yesterday. There were'nt the most honest people I've met . I asked all kinds of Q's ,like, are the diaphrams original ? are the lenses intact ? are the grills with them ? ..... REALITY, the horns have never been touched:applaud: the phase plug on one was loose so I borrowed a cordlees and took the 2405 apart, the stem was broken off and the diaphram had 1995 printed on it . :banghead: The recone , not by Mike Porter as I was told . Not unless Mike had gone gone on a three day piss up, gone back to his workshop, blind-folded himself , stuck the tube of glue up his arse and ran around the sodding M 25 holding the basket in one hand while trying to eat kebab with the other.:banghead: And the lenses , the coverted 2307.s I got 1 and a ----ing half. And finally, the grills; just think "firewood wrapped in black grill cloth. Other than than these minor dings ,MINTY. I got him down to 320 quid. Sorted. and then the drive back to London in rush hour ( how long does a Canadian work permit take Jim ).:) Got them home plugged them in to the Bryston and ........ They sound amazing . I will bi-amp , drop the Bryston to the LF and get something a little warmer for the HF. Anyway ,I got a bargain i feel. And another little project to keep addict happy.

I think your camera must be set to a very low-resolution setting or something?
Have you got any (decent) photo's of the 4435's you can post on the forum (please).

Hi Dan,
I have had the 4435's for 6 months. I have also been building the 4345's for the same amount of time. I need to free up some money to buy and build new amps, a new cd player and I have a project that I'm about to start with Guido which may result in another set of speakers. I have a certain amount of money invested in my sound gear. I'm trying to stay within that.
I spent more than I meant to on the 4345's project .$7000 . I bought my parts off ebay and payed too much money in most cases. I would like to spend some time enjoying my hard work now. I make pretty good money doing what I do. However painting is my first love and I do quite when I do it . I want to spend time in the studio painting and listerning to my music.
I'm coming back to Canada to train apprentices. The money will be very good,I'll have access to fully equipped machine shops where I can make what ever I want .Plus , more JBL parts than I can shake a stick at.
As you can see I have given this alot of thought. I can build a 4435 if I decide I miss them.
I just read the threads on this forum a realise how much there is to learn.
I want to learn enough to design my own speaker someday. I love to learn new things .

Hi Ian ,
these are the chipboard version, battered. They sound amazing though. I put them in the bedroom. I wont be getting out bed this weekend. I will restore these. I love the retro logo on the back. The 2231 is amazing . I will get them reconed when I finally get the 2235 kits from Calgary.
By the way, Guido is coming over to help set up the 4345's and work on our future project. I was thinking I would get the barbicue fired up and have a mini LH afternoon. Please consider yourself cordially invited and I extend that invitation to Tony in Croydon also . Infact ,the more the merrier !
I really need to get this photo posting thing sorted. Sorry eveyone !

Just upload the photos to "photobucket.com". I have uploaded all sorts of image sizes/resolutions and Photobucket handles any re-sizing issues automatically.
Then just link the URL into the threads using "insert image"

Hi Rich, many thanks for the invite, but dont have any wheels at the moment, which is rather annoying. That was a good buy in the end,are u intending to veneer the cabs ,or just repaint them as per original grey?
by-the-way,is the mid driver a 375,or is it a 2440/2441 in these?

Yeah!!
Just finished to test those damned cc 3145. Now I can throw the hot glue all over them and get them packed.
This time I overdid it with the biamp option using jumpers. I lost the schematic overview partly :p
Looking forward to fire the 4345 up..........

Ian ,
just checked the driver, 2420 is whats there. As far as I can tell they are the original spec. They dont have the wax seals on them , but the srew heads look like they dont have too much wear.I'll get Guido to check the dias when he's here. I dont know what I'm doing . I dont want srew them up.;)

Guido ,
Buy my 4435's and then you'll have 2 pairs and I'll have enough money for the new dia . Or I could trade you 2235 kits !!! Anyway ,How do my new amps sound ?
