Crossover Knowledge??

Does any member know about this Crossover, what it goes to?? Would it be for 4435?? Part #61549 Rev. E Serial # 258039 & 258061, owner says identical to whats in his 4435's.

That's the crossover all right, although I cannot tell if it's for the 4430 or 4435. Either way, if they are available, buy them. As Z. says, the one for the 4430 can be converted.

Do you say these are from the seller of the speaker?

Edit: Actually, I think the second large coil means that those are for the 4435. I wouldn't worry about that Rev. E business. Most likely a refinement.

No the seller of the speaker bought all the equipment from a studio/bar, and never opened them up. He has a whole storage building full of amps Eq's things of that nature. The owner of these is a LH member who is helping me find crossovers for the 4435's.:applaud:

I am aware of one change in drivers in the 4435 run, and that was from the 2421B to the 2426H.

Those are the correct 4435 crossovers.

Not only do they have the additional choke, there are three sets of driver wires. The whites go to the second woofer, as I recall.

I have one in my lap right now with that same board revision number on it, apparently the final one.

Those are factory circuit board numbers, not the complete crossover part numbers, hence the discrepancy noted earlier today.... :thmbsup:

New veneer should be here Thursday, and crossovers will be shipped on the 20th.... First thing I am going to do is remove the angle iron out from inside the cabs on bottoms with there attached eyebolts. They had these hanging upside down I guess.... Life is Good..:applaud:

The speakers, if they are like the 4430's in this, were designed for maximum coherence at a slight upward angle when sitting on the floor so that fitted in sofits in a studio they would be aimed at the person seated at the desk.

They all say Rev. E

My 4435's have the 2421 HF drivers and my xover has the same Rev. E marking on it.


I think as they developed the crossover network for the 4435 system they modified it till they were happy with it and it was the final version that ended up as the production version???

my 4435 use the same crossover, with the same Rev. E.

a short look into the registry says:

- from 1981 t0 1982, they show 5 digit numbers with 11xxx and use 2421 drivers.
- from (maybe Oct 1982) they show 6 digit numbers from 251xxx with 2421 drivers.
- from Oct. 1983 with numbers from 258xxx they used 2425H drivers
- from 1990 with a numbering jump to 429xxx they used 2426H drivers till the end in 1994/95

maybe he puchased them in 1987, but they are definetly built in 1983 with this numbers 258xxx.

I have those 61549 x-overs, but somebody has taken off the white wires for the second woofers. Where should they be connected?

When I do a search for the 4435 x-overs, I get a pdf that says the x-overs should 61461 and doesn't tell me where the white wires should be?

I have connectors E6, E11 and E12 free. The green wires on E2 and E13.

Trace the schematic and verify that the requisite additional/alternate parts for 4435 as opposed to 4430 are in place.

It's unlikely that someone simply "removed" the white wires, since those go to the main woofer in 4435.

It may be that you have a 4430 crossover, not 4435.... :dont-know

I think you are right. even though they are 61549 rev. E, serial nr 260761. It seems there are som blank spots on the circuit board for extra (4435) parts. It is a 4430 board.
