It appears these were originally owned by ACE of KISS

without some kind of documentation, these are just hacked up 4311's
that probably smell "funny"... -grumpy

Said he has documentation.

Guess they didn't bring the BIG Bucks the presence of Ace Frehley should muster the last time around ...

And this part - doesn't this just mean they were in his BASEMENT??

from his underground studio in Ct.

Indeed.

The "letter from Gordon" gets passing mention, my apologies.

Hopefully, for the seller, the mention of the letter and the large,
colorful fonts will be enough.

Don't quote me on this, my memory's hazy, but while I was doing high-end AV in the late 80s we got a call to go to a house in CT to talk with the new owner about an upgrade system for a house that was "already wired". There was a room in the basement that looked like a partially-excavated crawlspace (like, you could possibly stand between the floor beams, but if you walked your head would hit every single beam- especially if you were wearing 7" platform heels! :D ). The existing AV wiring was useless, and the "distributed audio" system was more like a glorified intercom system with radio tuners. The owner claimed it was a KISS member's house, and showed some pics of a project studio in the basement room, with the overhead beams carpeted to protect your skull (plus some acoustic treatment, I guess). Give me a couple minutes, I think I have a poster of Ace in that studio, we'll see if the JBLs show up in there.

Here 'tis, no sign of the JBLs in 1978, the ones in this pic were recessed into the wall. Doesn't mean they weren't there eventually, who knows. Sorry for the bad pic, I loaned the scanner out.

Nice boots. Think he crawled in there to pose for the pic?

I can't remember my own phone number sometimes, but do I remember where I've stashed my old guitar posters.

I guess I'm good for something...

First off, I have had one connection with Gordon (A friend of mine donated a year book, from the Highschool where Gene Simmons Graduated, to Gordon) so I might be able to get a response about the Letter, but can anyone tell me, Were these speakers SOLD four different times, or just listed four times? Are these actually four different sets of Speakers and four different very real Letters? (Well, copies of speakers and Copies of Letters).

IF someone were buying these because they were owned by ACE, would they care that the Speakers were too big?

Well at least they are real JBL's.. or are they?

The FEB ebay auction and the current one were both by the same guy, the same OVERISZE RED FONTS, etc.
And besides, 4311s aren't too big - 4435 or 4450s are big!

Wow, just looked at that auction for the first time.

He is right, they are not small speakers - but they are not big, either. They are just medium sized FLOOR speakers, nothing else.

I would be more impressed if Ace signed them on the back and/or signed a letter.

Don't know how that guy sells anything - that auction is very annoying to look at....

Nope, not floor speakers. They are nearfield control monitors, i.e., "bookshelf."

[Put them on the floor under Valencias as floor STANDS (as opposed to floor "standers,") maybe.... :p ]

If they at least had the right drivers in them maybe they would be worth something,
