Hi,

Does anyone knows whether the LE14A's polarity is reversed i.e. + to black terminal produce forward movement of cone. I noticed the L222 manual shows that the green/black wire should goes to the red terminal, which is against convention.

Any info is appreciated. Thanks.

There's no reversal in the Tech Manual, tho:

I'd be hooking green to the red terminal, per JBL convention.

Thanks Zilch,

If the LE14A is negative convention, then I will follow the L222 user manual i.e. the green/black to red terminal and green to black terminal. I did this connection and used a battery to test the movement of the cone using the speakers terminal. + to red sp terminal produces forward movement. Is this correct?

Would appreciate owners of L220/222 if you could help me confirm the connection. Thanks

Hi Bo, Zilch,

I think I know where the problem lies. I replaced the LE5-9 with the 104H-2. I know from another thread that the LE5 is negative convention, does anybody knows whether the 104H-2 is positive or negative? Thanks

Think I'll swap the white and white/black to hear the difference.
