These were posted in the Market Place forum.First off what nice people! It's fun to find people as into this hobby as we are and they were great! They are in very good condition and sounded great! The lowend from 4 135A/2235 hybrids was incredible. They are driven by a pair of Phase Linear 700B's. Total custom set-up that the owner and a friend built. Really nice set-up I wish I was in the market for them.

Hey, Rob...

Those a true collectors items!

Two questions?

1) What is covering the alternate 2405 baffle-cut? It is not covered the way I expected, and as shown in this picture Don recently posted for reference. It looks like they blinded it off, by mounting something black, coming in through the back access and using the mounting screws.

2) What was that fine red wine, hey? Come on... ;)

Both cover plates on the midrange horn and slot seem to be mounted inside of the cabinet. Don't know why but if you want to change things it all gets moved anyway. Fine red wine?? You mean Mateus?? you know the one with the candle wax all over it.

They sure are collectors items his whole set-up is really nice.

Rob,

What was your impression of the 2308....slot relative to your 2344's....vintage verus new age .(not trying to start a rant!!)

Also, the 700 B's , do you recall if they were the original or series 2?

Hello Ian

"What was your impression of the 2308....slot relative to your 2344's....vintage verus new age .(not trying to start a rant!!)"

I can't imagine anyone not liking them. They sure do bring a smile to your face. The midrange was great and they sure as hell were not spitty at all. They were solid and sounded real balanced overall. Very hard to compare as set-up was not optimal for imaging. I would have toed them in and possibly changed the drivers on the left side to get them more out into the room. That said they did not image as well as the 2344. But I have to try myself in my room to know for sure. Preference wise I think that's a tuff and very personal call.

Rob :)

You can sure tell the focus was all stereo, while the vid was way secondary. Ha! :rotfl:
