Hi

That M30 shows up as a regular JBL model ( within their Service info ). Back in the mid to late seventies ,,the recommended replacement cone kit was a C8RK130. By the 1980s', the recommended replacement cone kit became the C8RE130.

In the 1960s' and early seventies , the recommended replacement cone kit would have been the C8RD130 - which is what you have. That means your M30 performance characteristics will be close if not identical to a D130 with an aged Alnico magnet.

does that mean it would be a low frequency or full range..I read some lit some where that some d130s are 1500 cps and others were 17000 cps....I would like to build a nice caab for a custom wired guitar tube amp but if it is just a low frrequency speaker, Ill use it for something else.

Hi

The D130/K130/E130 are all considered to be pretty "broad-range" transducers. The D130, by todays standards, isn't considered to have much command in the low end , when compared to woofers like the 2235 or even a D140F.

I'd put that D130 in your prospective guitar cabinet and see if you like it.
