... or sheer potential torture to Bo and Giskard? You decide.

Simple math...

...And I can say, now, to those folks that ask, can an L100 be used for PA? Yes, if you use THREE or more pairs, stacked. This thing is absolutely effortless, to WAY beyond 120 dB... and is capable of being driven by small amps (believe it or not, the little NAD C320BEE in the right hand of the rack, is running the WHOLE THING. Yes, a 2.666 ohm load- not even a flinch. ) to ridiculous output levels...

Regards,
Gordon.

Gordon.........WOW!
Are any of those 100's for sale?
I'm thinking I may soon have to give up my L200/300 conversions
for something smaller. But I must keep something JBL in the house more than just a coffee mug.

Le'me know,

Oh, now I get it: Listening to L1:D:D's stacked three-deep would indeed be work - qualifies for triple time...? ;)

At one time I owned 3 pair of these. I put 3 per side and arranged them in an array of sorts. Since they are tapered in the back it made a nice curved array. Sound was OK, but the look was incredible.

That's reminiscent of some of the rigs that would evolve for providing music at the parties of days gone by. (Is there a couple of kegs out of camera range there? :D  )

Charley

Man, if I just had another 2 pairs... you got it, that's what I'd have done... :D

BuaHaHaHa... the idea of FLOOR TO CEILING L100s... :rockon2:

Oh, BTW. JJ- yeah, the top two pairs are for sale... theyre' at the shop here, Audio Atlanta, in Marietta. The top pair is almost mint (but for a few very minor cabinet boo-boos), the second pair is functionally OK, but the cabinets are a little more worn, and the drivers aren't as cosmetically perfect (ie, some fading and speckling). Both pairs work great, tho. Currently, I've got the cherry-condition pair hooked back up to the Pioneer SX838/Pioneer CLD-S104 CD/LD system in the front of the store... and man, like I said before- it's sweet!

The third pair (which is missing grilles and has non-factory-kit reconed drivers) was sent out today, to a local PA repair place, to be potentially used as a set of monitors. Heck, even without the grilles, even though they're cosmetically kinda a train wreck, they'll still make a good set of starter studio monitors for somebody... should be just about the same, as having a pair of 4311s, naturally...

Regards,
Gordon.
