Yes, the 21597 is an original Altec part.
It was used along with the Altec 411/413 woofer.

See our ever handy Driver Reference Guide

Oldgen,

I think you might have the lighter aluminum diaphrams there. Take a look at this:

Yes, some loss in the translation.
It is a HF driver diaphragm, used in a HF driver, that was used
ALONG WITH
the Altec 411/413 woofer, by the reference.:barf:

Yes, That is an original Altec diaphragm but the part number is the one under the voice coil, 23744. The 802-8G drivers and a few others used that fram and it is considered by many to be the best sounding because it is light weight and thinner then the new ones you can buy today.

I can't hear any difference from those or the new ones so I have to accept what others say. I don't have fond feelings toward this particular diaphragm because the lead wires are very brittle right where they bend to go down to the dome, New ones don't have that bend and seem to be stronger in my opinion.

In my model 19s one has that fram and the other has a new 34647 fram and so far not one person who has listened to them can tell any difference at all.
