picked up a pair of Sony transmission line speakers a while back. They've been on the patio, under a tarp for some time , as the woofs were rotted.
got them out today. drivers were a joke. tweets were toys. cabs pretty nice. Noticed also that I had a pair of Yammy NS bookshelf's taking up room. Have never had grills for these. Put power to them and they were OK/healthy. AND the same size drivers as the TL's.
so I did the transplant and it was amazingly good. The TL's gained a lot of definition and bass with the Yammy drivers that were only OK in their native boxes.
Don't know much about the transmission line design. Has JBL ever experimented with it ?
