I have a pair of beautiful eXemplar horns with Altec 515 and 909 drivers.
I am planing to move over to tropical Queensland (Australia) and I wonder if I should be aware of something since this place where I am going has a typical tropic climate.

I was thinking to keep the air condition always on but I would like to know how bad is humidity for the drivers and if there is any other way to protect them.

Friens non-audiphile recommend those waterproof sprays like those you put on your suede shoes...but I don't think that is good idea.

Any ideas?!

thank you

Just buy a dehumidifier from SEARS $150. Empty the water every couple of days.

Hi Goran,

I think you mean Brisbane or Darwin...?

You don't have to take care in this point.
the main thing is that the humidity is constant and does not have ups and downs from day to night.
with any coating you cannot fight against the humidity which is a kind of "steam" not water. Theres a difference cause the steam in the air diffunds trough nearly all kinds of material except metal.
I know that there are rel.humids of about 95% are constant.....don't worry. It's another case when you will be near the sea with a salty humidity.....RUST is posible.
