2ch question.

Greetings

After pondering the answers by Widget, bo and others about my HT Pre-amp questions, I think I have decided to go with the separate 2ch pre-amp instead of spending $$$$$ on the perfect HT that will also do 2 channel justice. With that in mind, I am looking at the Parasound Halo, Adcom and am open to other recommendations. I have also found an old Mac C31v for $650 (with remote). Are the McIntosh pre-amps regarded as highly as the amps for sound quality? Or is there a better way to go for about the same $$.

Hi Kevin,

w/o phono stage:

I'm fond of the Proceed PRE ... they pop up used now & then.
Currently using an AR LS2B ... happy with that too (shy on the bells &
whistles). Both of these seem to be well below the $1K mark in nice shape.

I have a mac tuner, but can't speak on their pre-amps (I've listened to them,
but never owned/lived with one).

I'm sure others can chime in with their opinions :)
