When I went into the u.s.m.c back in the 1984 all kenwood- technics -sansui- pioneer speakers in that style were the same. you could buy the same kenwood speakers on ebay for 3000 a pair on post at the afes exchange for 250 a pair If you were over seas - korea-japan, they were cheaper there than the states .when my uncle was in the milatary they had the same style of speakers 5 way or 7 way speaker for a 150 a pair in the 70s. some jack ass and his friends are geting a good laugh at this. radio shack old mark one speaker for those who remember these speakers. they had a 3 way system 15 woofer- horn midrange and horn tweeter. they are better speakers than the kenwwod on ebay or sansui- technics -pioneer

yes the same speaker but the one you have in your picture is from the 70s and the one this jack ass and his friends have on ebay are from the 80s. I hate it when people try to run a game or scam on every day hard working people:barf:

When you listen to these things, you know that this is all they are worth. A pair of L16s does every thing a hell of a lot better, even the bass.

Thanks for the facts, but I think we all figured out that someone is obviously playing games...

That speakers got more ways then the subway!
What a ridiculous over wrought cheesy gimmick box!!!
I don't even know how the front baffle board still has any strength with all those holes in it?
Can anyone say, phase problems.
It looks like they were trying to win a distortion contest with that thing, I can just hear the salesman now. "Well you see that big thing on the bottom produces your generic base tone, nice bump around 80 Hz. Then you're midrange driver over there produces some fairly audible material, until that plastic horn screecher thing over there kinda distracts you. But then you have those two horn super tweeters to take your mind off that and they produces your hiss and scratch, perhaps causing some hearing aids to go into feedback, lets not forget about the Roche repeler beneath the screecher horn thing. Wow what a piece of technology"
So much tonefull stuff pouring out of every available square inch. I'd rather listen to a parking garage full of New York city taxicab drivers then those delectable vintage doorstops!:barf:
I think I will bit on them, 3000 sounds reasonable enough:blink:

Remember those big Fisher three ways that used to sell at stores like Service Merchandise, the ones with the 15 or 18 inch drivers with the 1 pound Cone and a clock radio like speaker motor structures moving them? I think they were up around 42dB per watt in. Amazing that it's even legal to sell something like that and refer to it as a loudspeaker.
I found one once in a dumpster, it was fantastic and fascinating, it had to be simply the worst designed driver I had ever set my hands upon!
Even cheesy clock radio speakers have sound engineering behind them.
The motor structure was so undersized that you could actually watch the Cone accelerate when applying DC voltage,
I'm not really even sure how they worked?

NZ... A.k.a. the shoemaker.
PS.
I hear Kenwood is currently working on a 20.000 Way system right now. Claimed benefits are absolutely no dynamic intermodulation distortion! However they are struggling to make the system small enough to fit in a home, a problem they are confident they can work out.

Kenwood wasnt the only guilty party. I have a big pair of Sansui's . wuf , 2mids , 2 tweets. Awful speakers. No resale value at all. But the cabs are well made as are most Japanese speakers from that era.

Got them in perfect condition for $5 as somebody had painted them white. Apple/Bose envy ??

Looks to be more of that vinyl wrapped crap. Since when are Pizeo tweeters worth anything, and I think the magnet structure on the 15 is close to 4oz's. I liked to take speakers like those and plug them into the wall ac outlet. Now that's fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:p

Sounds like a good fate for them. I wouldn't pay for shipping on these things if someone gave them to me!! :barf: :barf::barf:
