View Full Version : 14" woofers, differences?

Hi
I was wondering about the different 14" woofers made. Is there a comparison chart anywhere?

All I know:

The LE14a seems very hard to drive= low sensitivity
LE14 (1) was used in 240ti
LE14 (3) ????
LE1400 was never used but should have been in ti7000
LE1400ND is K2 S7500/9500

I don't know if I am right at all, but I would like to know the sensitivity and frequency range of them all

You can find threads about the 1400nd by doing a search without the LE. It's not really in that series. There's quite a bit about it in the forum threads.

Sorry Zilch. I found a lot of your other threads on DIY: crossovers+horns+woofers. They were very helpful. I won't bother you any more.
This 14" stuff is just for the fun of it.:o:

My frustration is that people don't seem to want to use "Search" before asking this stuff.

You'll notice that all of the links are to the "Transducer Information" section on the main forum page.

The information you wanted was all there, and then some. Plenty more in the forum discussion threads....

I think I m learning to use the forum. I am all new to this and it's my first DIY project so I feel a bit helpless/hopeless. So far I have my H3100 horns and 276ND drivers and cabinets, but each new person I speak to recommend me a different woofer: 2231, 2225, 2235, 2226, all the 14" woofers and Altec 416, 515 and so on.

VernI've played them with LE14A, LE14H-3, and 2235H successfully. I don't have the ND drivers, tho.

The lower sensitivity of these woofers is not a major problem; I just pad down the HF as required, or biamp.
