JBL 034 and 035 Ti

Hello!

I have just received a stock of old (but unused) JBL components. Among all spare parts there are a lot of high frequency drivers 034 and 035 Ti. Does anyone know where I can find information about those?

The 034 is the plastic version of the cast aluminum 044. It was used in the L15, L46, L56, and L86 systems. The 035Ti is the plastic version of the cast aluminum 044Ti and it is used in numerous Pro and Consumer systems.

The 034/044 used phenolic diaphragms coated with aluminum and they are "good" to ~ 15 kHz and ~ 18 kHz respectively. The 035Ti/044Ti used titanium diaphragms and are "good" to ~ 25 kHz and ~ 28 kHz respectively. The difference in response is supposed to be due to the plastic versions having ~ 1/2 pound less magnetic material.

The C8R2110 "goes into" the D204!, D208, D208H, D216!, D280, 2110, 2110H

Didn't know there ever was a D204.

What was a D280?

Evidently the D280 was only used in the L57 Carnival. I've personally never seen one. I think it might be a D208 with an aquaplas coating applied.

The acquaplas makes sense.The description regarding the L57 Carnival states that they are "water resistant".Probably a white sprayed cone.Once I acquire a "Carnival" speaker I am done with my JBL collecting! Saw one on ebay last year with no stand and in rough shape.

Hey, I know this isn't recommended procedure... but can anyone indicate whether an 034 kit will PHYSICALLY fit into an 033? I may need to match up a "kludge" combination of these, soon, for someone with a lost tweeter... we just will probably want the elements to be the same, should work well enough, otherwise, for this...
